Troubleshooting & FAQs
How Are Gift Cards Used At The POS?
Typically, each gift card has a barcode / QR code associated with it in the form of a physical card or mobile application, which can be read at the POS. The POS then communicates with Factor4 via Centegra Plus to update the balance when the gift card is topped up or is used to pay for items.
The method at the POS varies per system. For more information, see:
The Gift Card Isn't Recognised At The POS.
If a gift card scanned at the POS is not recognised, first check that the POS is online.
Then, Click Here to check that the Centegra Plus API is fully operational, and check with Factor4 to ensure that their API is also fully operational.
Next, check to make sure that Factor4 key is active. To do this:
- Head to Company Settings > External Access & FTP > API Secure Keys.
- Locate Factor4 Gift Card in the list, and check that the key is enabled. (For more details, Click Here.)
