Introduction
Whilst the Centegra Plus loyalty engine integrates via various external loyalty providers, Centegra Plus can also be used as a loyalty provider too.
With Centegra Plus, for loyalty points accumulation and redemption:
- A Customer Type (or multiple) is created to represent the loyalty type grouping.
- Individual Customers are created within Centegra Plus to represent each customer loyalty account, where the customers code is used to input the loyalty cards unique code. This can be created individually when required, or in batches when loyalty cards are created.
- Loyalty cards are used at the POS to earn points, which updates the points balance against the associated customer account within Centegra Plus were applicable.
- Loyalty cards are also used at the POS to redeem points, which applies a loyalty payment or loyalty discount (varies per POS) and updates the points balance against the associated customer account within Centegra Plus.

Troubleshooting & FAQs
How Are Loyalty Accounts Used At The POS?
Typically, each loyalty account has a barcode / QR code associated with it in the form of a physical card or mobile application, which can be read at the POS. The POS then communicates with Centegra Plus to add or redeem points.
The method at the POS varies per system. For more information, see:
The Loyalty Account Isn't Recognised At The POS.
If a loyalty account scanned at the POS is not recognised, first check that the POS is online.
Then, Click Here to check that the Centegra Plus API is fully operational.
Next, check to make sure that Centegra Plus Loyalty API key is active. To do this:
- Head to Company Settings > External Access & FTP > API Secure Keys.
- Locate Loyalty in the list, and check that the API key is enabled. (For more details, Click Here.)
If all systems are operational, check to ensure that the Customer within Centegra Plus is active.
If you are still having issues using a voucher at the POS, Contact Centegra.
What Are The Physical Loyalty Card Requirements?
To make use of the physical loyalty cards on a till in conjunction with Centegra Plus Loyalty Cards integrations we require the following;
- Loyalty Card reference must be a Minimum of 8 digits long.
- When generating loyalty card references, they should be produced randomly as opposed to sequentially to aid security.
- In the case of multiple loyalty card programs, consider distinct number ranges for individual programs to allow for easier administration.
- Can be Alpha-Numeric (Note: These can only be encoded onto Track 1 and 3 on the magswipe - must be on at-least Track 1)
- Loyalty cards should be the standard size: ID-1 / CR-80 Size (85.6mm × 53.98mm / 3.370 × 2.125 inch). The Magnetic Stripe itself should be in the standard position.
- We recommend that the loyalty card number is also printed on the card itself in case of damage to the Magnetic Stripe
- We also recommend that the loyalty card number is additionally represented on the card by either a 1D or 2D barcode so can be used in conjunction with a presentation scanner, device camera (where supported) should reading of the Magnetic Stripe be unavailable.
- We recommend that the loyalty card reference number should be loaded onto both Track 1 and Track 2 of the loyalty card. This data should not be encrypted, and we don’t require any leading characters etc. (see note at top r.e alphanumeric loyalty card references - can only be Track 1 and Track 3, in the case of numeric though, encode onto Track 1 and Track 2)
- We recommend obtaining a sample loyalty card from the card manufacturer to test on your system and confirm the swipe is interpreted by the till correctly to pass onto our loyalty card system.
