Explore the power of Sales Reporting Day Parts in Centegra Plus to transform your sales analysis into a more insightful, actionable, and strategically advantageous process.
Note that:
- Different sites can have different times assigned to the same day part type. For example, day part "Breakfast" may end at 10:30am at some sites, and 11am at others.
- Day parts are assigned to transactions at the time of the sale. Re-configuring day part times does not change the day parts assigned to previous transactions.
- If your company uses the separate Business Intelligence Cube product, day parts should be set up to start and end on the hour in order for the day parts to be supported within the BI.
Create The Companywide Sales Reporting Day Part Types
To use the sales reporting day parts feature, a day part type for Sales Reporting is required for each part of the day. These are company-wide, so if these already exist for your company, you can skip this step.
Head to Company Settings > Company.
- Select the Day Part Types tab.
- Select [CREATE NEW DAY PART].
In the New Day Part Type window:
- Name: Enter a name for the day part type.
- Required For: Select Sales Reporting.
- Select [SAVE].
Repeat the process until all required day part times are created.
Times can now be assigned to the day part types, as covered in the next section.
Assigning Reporting Day Part Times
You can assign times to the day part types created in the previous section to report on sales at different parts of the day.
This can be done against the site, or against individual locations within your site. If defined against both, the location settings will override site settings at that location.
Assigning Against The Site
Whilst logged into the site, head to Company Settings > Site Setup > Site.
- Select the Site Day Parts tab.
- Select [ASSIGN DAY PARTS].
In the Assign Day Parts window:
- Day Part Type: Select the day part type that times need to be assigned to.
- Day(s) Of The Week: Select the days of the week that the times to be selected are applicable on.
- Start Time & End Time: Select when the day part starts end ends.
- Select Widget Chart Colour: Select the colour to show for the day part in the Sales By Hour Vs Reference dashboard widget.
Select [SAVE] and repeat to add times to other sales reporting day parts for the site.
Note that:
- Day part times cannot overlap other reporting day parts within the site.
- If day part times are assigned to locations within the site (as per the next section), these will override the site times.
- It is recommended that day part times start at least one hour before opening, and end at least one hour after closing.
Assigning Against The Location
