Embark on a journey of insights with the Item Like for Like report, offering a nuanced comparison of product sales at your site. On a selected date, uncover how your sales stack up against the previous day, the same day in the previous week, and a four-week average. This detailed comparison per product is thoughtfully grouped by Reporting Day Part. providing a comprehensive view of your sales performance. It's not just a report; it's your window into the dynamic ebb and flow of product sales, guiding you to make informed decisions for your business.
For companies with multiple sites, this report can only be run for one site.
If required, this report can be created as a Saved Report and set up to send out periodically, providing that the report date is selected as either Today or Yesterday.
Report Filters
Access the Item Like For Like report via: Reports & Analysis > Sales > Item Like For Like.
Select the required report parameter options from:
Report Date |
Select which date to report on, or select either [TODAY] or [YESTERDAY]. |
Number Of Days Store Open In Last 4 Weeks |
Select how many days your store was open in the 4 weeks prior to the selected report date. The 4-week average is based on this value. By default this will populate with 28 assuming a 7-day week, but you can enter any value. (i.e. For a 6-day week enter: 24; for a 5-day week enter: 20) |
Product Groups |
Select which product groups to include. If left blank, all groups will be included. |
Data Type |
Select whether the values should be based on Net, Gross or based on sale quantity. |
Group By |
Select whether to group products together in the report based on Group, Master Group, Super Group or have None. |
Report Output
The output of the item sales report is split into sections based on the Group By filter selected, displaying
- Product Name (PLU): Displays the name of the product, with its PLU shown in brackets.
- Day Part: Displays the reporting day part name. (If configured for your site.)
- Date: Displays the sales value based on the the selected Data Type. (i.e. Gross, net or quantity.)
- Day Before: Displays the value but for the previous date.
- Week Before: Displays the value for the same day in the previous week.
- 4 Weeks Average: Displays the average value over the previous four weeks.
Percentage comparison indicators are also shown, where grey is a difference within +/- 5%; red is a difference less than -5%; green is a difference greater than 5%.
