Menu Publications: Publish

Introduction

Menus can be published at any time to update the menu products and/or menu times.

Before publishing menus to destinations for locations, first ensure that the menu has been Validated to ensure that nothing has been missed within the menu setup. For some menu destinations, validation before publication is mandatory. 

If publishing multiple menus to a location, an additional validation step is taken to ensure that the times within those menus do not overlap. If they do, the publication will be cancelled and you'll receive a 'Validation Error' status, prompting you to check the menu times for this location and run through the menu Validate process.  

When publishing menus for multiple locations, it is recommended that you are logged into the HQ site as this will provide access to all locations. 

Menus can be published in two ways:

• Publish By Location
• Publish By Menu Combination

Publish By Location

To publish menus to a destination for an individual location: 

• Head to Menu Management > Menu Publications. 
• Select [PUBLISH BY LOCATION].

In the New Publication window: 

• Select the Location that menus are being published for. 
• Select the Menu(s) being published. 
• Select the Destination that menus are being published to. 
• Select the Publication Date & Time to specify the menu go live date. 

Select [CREATE] to publish the menu. 

A menu publication will show at the top of the publications list with API Status "In Progress".

It can a few minutes for the status to update once the publication is set to go live. Ensure that you refresh the page and check that the API Status updates to "Success" before leaving the page. If the API Status shows "Failure", Click Here.

Publish By Menu Combination

To publish to a destination for multiple locations using the same menu (or combination of menus): 

• Head to Menu Management > Menu Publications. 
• Select [PUBLISH BY MENU].

In the New Publication window: 

• Select the Menu(s) being published. 
• Select the Locations that menus are being published for. The list only shows locations that are associated with all selected menus. 
• Select the Destination that menus are being published to. 
• Select the Publication Date & Time to specify the menu go live date. 

Select [CREATE] to publish the menu. 

A menu publication for each location will show at the top of the publications list with API Status "In Progress".
