Introduction
Wastage reporting reasons can be used to track the reasons for Wastage taking place.
You can manage a list of wastage reporting reasons that users select when creating wastage. The selected wastage reporting reason then shows alongside the wasted items within wastage reports.
Creating Wastage Reporting Reasons
To create a wastage reporting reason:
- Head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types.
- Select [NEW WASTAGE TYPE].
Within the New Wastage Type window:
- Wastage Type Name: Enter a name for the wastage reporting reason.
Select [SAVE WASTAGE TYPE].
The wastage reporting reason is then available to select when entering wastage.
Editing Wastage Reporting Reasons
To edit a wastage reporting reason:
- Head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types.
- Locate the required wastage reporting reason and select [EDIT].
Within the Edit Wastage Type window:
- Wastage Type Name: Enter a name for the wastage reporting reason.
Select [SAVE WASTAGE TYPE].
Searching Wastage Reporting Reasons
Access Wastage Reporting Reasons via: Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types.
All wastage reporting reasons are shown by default when accessing this section.
If required, you can filter the list to see specific wastage reporting reasons, by using the following filters within the Search panel at the top of the section:
- Name :Search based on the name of the wastage reporting reason (or part of).
- Show Deleted: Specify whether to include previously deleted reporting reasons in search results.
Select [SEARCH], and all wastage reporting reasons which meet your search criteria will be listed.
The wastage types list shows the following:
- ID: The unique ID for the wastage reporting reason.
- Name: The name of the wastage reporting reason.
Deleting Wastage Reporting Reasons
A wastage reporting reason can be deleted if no longer required.
You can only delete a wastage reporting reason if you have rights to do so. Click Here if you do not have rights to delete but believe you should.
To delete a wastage reporting reason:
- Head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types.
- Locate the required wastage reporting reason and select [EDIT].
Within the wastage reporting reason:
- Select [DELETE].
- Confirm the deletion.
The wastage reporting reason is now marked as deleted.
This is a soft delete, so the wastage reporting reason can be Recovered if required.
Recovering Deleted Wastage Reporting Reasons
A wastage reporting reason that has previously been Deleted can be recovered if required.
To recover a deleted wastage reporting reason:
- Head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Types.
- Perform a Search, specifically with the Show Deleted filter set to Yes.
- Locate the required wastage reporting reason and select [EDIT].
Within the wastage reporting reason:
- Select [UNDELETE].
- Confirm the recovery.
The wastage reporting reason is now available again.
