Introduction
Wastage templates allow you to specify products that are wasted on a regular basis, to be included by default when Creating Wastage via the back office.
This is particularly effective in operations where similar products are regularly wasted at specific times.
A wastage template can either be specific to an individual site or it can be available to all sites.
You can have as many wastage templates as are required.
Creating Wastage Templates
When creating a wastage template, if the template should be available to all sites, ensure that you create the template whilst logged into the Head Office site; otherwise, log into the site that the template is for.
To create a wastage template:
- Head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Templates.
- Select [NEW WASTAGE TEMPLATE].
Within the New Wastage Template window:
- Name: Enter a name for the template.
- All Sites: If logged into the Head Office site, select this if the template can be available at all sites.
Select [SAVE WASTAGE TEMPLATE].
You'll be taken into the wastage template.
To add products to the template, select [NEW TEMPLATE ITEM].
In the new row at the bottom of the list:
- Product: Select the product from the list.
Repeat until all products are added to the template.
Once all products have been entered, select [SAVE WASTAGE TEMPLATE].
The wastage template is now available to select when creating wastage via the back office.
Editing Wastage Templates
Wastage templates can be edited without impacting on historical wastage that used the template. If editing a companywide wastage template, log into the head office site; otherwise log into the site where the template is applicable.
To edit a wastage template:
- Head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Templates.
- Locate the required wastage template and select [EDIT].
Within the wastage template, the order of existing products can be changed by using the drag-and-drop buttons on the row to reposition the products in the list.
Additionally, new products can be added to the existing template by selecting [NEW TEMPLATE ITEM] and then selecting the product in the blank row at the bottom of the list.
Searching Wastage Templates
Access Wastage Templates via: Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Templates.
All companywide wastage templates as well as wastage templates specific to the site that you are logged in to are shown by default when accessing this section.
There is no option to perform a search to narrow down the list in this section currently.
The wastage templates list shows the following:
- Name: The name of the wastage template.
- Created: The date that the wastage template was created.
- Create By: The user that created the wastage template.
Deleting Wastage Templates
A wastage template can be deleted if no longer required.
You can only delete a wastage template if you have rights to do so. Click Here if you do not have rights to delete but believe you should.
To delete a wastage template:
- Head to Inventory Management > Wastage > Wastage Templates.
- Locate the required wastage template and select [EDIT].
Within the wastage template:
- Select [DELETE].
- Confirm the deletion.
The wastage template is now marked as deleted.
This is a hard delete, so the wastage template cannot be recovered.
