Introduction
When it is time to create a new period within your site, there are two methods of doing so.
The method applicable to your site depends on whether your company is configured to use the Company Periods feature:
Note that you cannot create a new period if a period already exists in Current state within your site, as it is only possible to have one period in Current state at a time.
Creating A Period - Using "Company Periods"
If using the Company Periods feature, to create a new period:
- Head to Period Management > Periods.
- Select [NEW PERIOD].
The new period will now show in the list in Current state.
Creating A Period - Not Using "Company Periods"
If not using the Company Periods feature, to create a new period:
- Head to Period Management > Periods.
- Select [NEW PERIOD].
Within the New Period page, the following is shown for reference:
- Last Period: The description of the previous period.
- Open Date: The date and time that the period you are about to create will start. This is based on the time that the previous period closed.
Confirm that the information shown is as expected, then:
- New Period Close Date: Select the date and time that this new period should end.
- Select [CREATE PERIOD].
The new period now exists in Current state.
