Introduction
Stripe can be used in conjunction with Centegra Plus customer accounts to charge customers when paying with wristbands (or 'tags') at the POS.
With the Stripe guest charging integration:
- The guest signs up for a guest charging account, which generates a Centegra Plus customer record to represent the lead guest. Simultaneously, the guest associates a payment card with their account via Stripe.
- Tags are associated with the customer record to represent payment wristbands linked to the guests account, where those wristbands are issued to guests on arrival.
- Wristbands are then used by guests for payment at the POS. A charge is then made against the associated payment card in Stripe.
For more information on this integration, Contact Centegra.
Guest Registration Process
Stripe Guest Charging Registration utilises the Centegra Plus Customers feature via a bespoke form, allowing the guest to register themselves.
Step 1: Enter Guest Details
- The guest is to access the bespoke guest registration form.
- The guest then fills in their core information.
Step 2: Associate Wristbands Against The Account
- The guest is then prompted to associate their payment wristbands with their account.
- This is done by scanning the QR code on each individual wristband as prompted.
- Note that the guest may need to grant Centegra Plus access to their devices camera.
Step 3: Agree To T&Cs
- The guest is then prompted to read and agree to any terms of use specified by the company.
- The account can then be registered.
Step 4: Associate Payment Card Via Stripe
- Once the account is registered, the guest is redirected to Stripe and prompted to enter payment card information. This is the card that gets charge when a wristband is used at the POS.
- Once entered, the guest is redirected back to Centegra Plus, and their guest registration process is complete. Wristbands can now be used for payment.
Account Management
Guest Account Management
A guest can access their account to make changes if required.
The guest is to access the bespoke account management form, where they are prompted to enter both the email address and mobile number associated with their account before requesting an access code.
If a valid account is found based on the details entered, the guest is emailed an access code which they can use to access their account management page.
Within the account management page, the guest can:
- Add and remove wristbands associated with their account.
- Change the payment card associated with their account.
Administrator Account Managment
A system administrator can make changes to a guests account if required.
The guests account is a customer record within Centegra Plus, and therefore can be edited as a customer as covered in This Article.
Wristbands associated with the guests account are customer tags, and therefore can be edited within the customer record as covered in This Article.
Note that changes to payment cards via Stripe must be done via the guests account management page.
Troubleshooting & FAQs
How Are Wristbands Used At The POS?
Typically, each wristband has a barcode / QR code associated with it which can be read at the POS. The POS then communicates with Centegra Plus to charge the payment card linked in Stripe.
The method at the POS varies per system. For more information, see:
Can I Enter A Refund Against A Wristband?
Yes,. Refunds or voided transactions entered at the POS are captured as a negative charge and feed through to Stripe as a refund request.
Can I Use Any Wristband Code?
No. For security, wristband codes (or 'tags') must be 14 characters long and comply with the Luhn algorithm using a four digit prefix provided by Centegra per company, with a final check digit.
The Wristband Isn't Recognised At The POS.
If a wristband (or 'tag') scanned at the POS is not recognised, first check that the POS is online.
Next, check to ensure that the Customer within Centegra Plus is active as well as the individual Tag representing the wristband.
Then, Click Here to check that the Centegra Plus API is fully operational.
If all systems are operational and you are still having issues using a wristband, Contact Centegra.
