The Modified Items report offers valuable insights into customer preferences and behaviours by highlighting where menu items are being customised. Stay informed about adjustments to key recipes to identify frequently removed ingredients and monitor the effectiveness of add-ons and upsells and their impact on revenue.
This report allows you to track modifications based on either the parent product sold or the specific modifiers applied; analyse transaction sources to understand the impact of menu variations across various platforms on customisation habits, or evaluate team performance to identify who excels in achieving upsell targets.
For companies with multiple sites, this can be split per site or can be consolidated for all sites.
If required, this report can be created as a Saved Report and set up to send out periodically.
Report Filters
Access the Modified Items report via: Reports & Analysis > Sales > Modified Items.
Select the required report parameter options from:

Select whether to see the detail in level two of the report as either:

Report Output
The output of the Modified Items report depends on the Analysis Style filter selected:
Analysis Style: By Parent Product
When Analysis Style By Parent Product is selected, the Modified Items report is split into sections based on the View Type filter selected, and is further split into sub-sections based on the Group By filter selected, displaying:
Parent Product Name |
Displays the name of the parent product sold. Note that only products with modifiers are listed in this column. |
Quantity |
Displays the number of times the parent product was sold in total. |
Base Gross/Net |
Displays the sale value of the parent product sold. |
Modified Gross/Net |
Displays the combined sale value of the parent product sold, and any modifiers attached to the parent product. |
Modifier Product Name |
Displays the name of any modifier products attached to the parent product. If there are multiple modifiers, a total line is shown too. |
Mod Qty |
Displays the number of times the modifier product has been attached to the parent product. |
Mod Ratio |
Displays the number of times the modifier product has been attached to the parent product, as a percentage of the number of times the parent product has been sold. |
Mod Gross/Net |
Displays the sale value of the modifier product sold, when attached to the parent product shown. |
Uplift % |
For modifiers with a sale value, displays the total sale uplift impact of modifier on the parent product sold. |
Analysis Style: By Modifier Product
When Analysis Style By Modifier Product is selected, the Modified Items report is split into sections based on the View Type filter selected, and is further split into sub-sections based on the Group By filter selected, displaying:
Modifier Product Name |
Displays the name of the modifier product sold. |
Parent Product Name |
Displays the name of any parent product that the modifier product has been attached to. |
Parent Product Qty |
Displays the number of times the parent product was sold in total. |
Mod Qty |
Displays the number of times the modifier product was attached to the parent product shown. |
Mod Ratio |
Displays the number of times the modifier product was attached to the parent product shown, as a percentage. |
Modified Gross/Net |
Displays the sale value of the modifier product shown, when attached to the parent product shown. |
