- Head to Product Management > Products and search to locate the required product.
- Against the product, select [EDIT] then [PRODUCT].
Within the Product Detail section of the product setup page:
- Select the relevant Stock Master Group.

To assign multiple products to product groups, you can use the Product List report instead.
- Head to Reports & Analysis > Data > Product List.
- Perform a search, using the Product Groups filter if required to narrow down your search.
- Against the relevant product, change the Product Master Group and Product Group as required.
- Repeat for each product as required.
You do not need to select any save button as changes are saved automatically.
What Is The "UNASSIGNED PRODUCTS" Group?
You may notice sales against an "UNASSIGNED PRODUCTS" product group within your product hierarchy or sales reports. This group is designed to capture products that have been automatically created as a POS product and have not yet been assigned to a product group within Centegra Plus.
To resolve this, you simply need to ensure that all products are assigned to the relevant product group:
- Head to the Product List report, via Reports & Analysis > Data > Product List.
- Use the Product Groups filter to select only the "UNASSIGNED PRODUCTS" super group.
- Select [RUN REPORT].
All products currently assigned to "UNASSIGNED PRODUCTS" are shown.
Against each product:
- Select the Product Master Group it should be assigned to.
- Then select the Product Group it should be assigned to.
Repeat for each product until all products are assigned to the correct product group.
Recommendation
For anybody that is responsible for product group assignment within your company, we recommend enabling the System Alerts Dashboard Widget.
This alerts to the number of products that have not yet been assigned to a reporting group.
Selecting the quantity in the Value column will run the report covered above automatically.
Can Grouping In Centegra Plus Inherit Grouping From The POS?
If your company uses any of the following POS systems, then it is possible to replicate the POS product grouping within Centegra Plus:
- MyVenue mvPOS
- NCR Silver
- Aloha Cloud
Whilst this provides much less flexibility and control than managing Product Grouping Within Centegra Plus, this option is ideal for smaller operations with limited capacity when it comes to managing your product database.
